Teeny! Tiny! Mini Monkey!
Teeny! Tiny! Mini Monkey! is an illustrated story of a tiny monkey who finds friendship. Mini Monkey learns what makes him different is also what makes him special. This book is a perfect gift for preschool children and young readers.
Mini Monkey is sad because the other monkeys tease him and won't play with him because he is such a small monkey. One by one, Mini seeks out the larger animals in the forest to tell him how to grow bigger; first, the giraffe, then the hippo, and finally, the elephant. Mini is very sad when the large animals cannot tell him how to grow. When there is a crisis in the forest, Mini's unique small monkey body is just what is needed, and he becomes a hero, and the other monkeys befriend him.

As a missionary kid in Ethiopia, my friends were ethnically and culturally diverse. Yet when the older taller kids in school patted me on the head and called me "Little Punky," I was very sad. Every child should be accepted (and celebrated!) and not rejected for who they are. This was the inspiration for Teeny! TIny! Mini Monkey!
The animals and illustrations were inspired by my time in East Africa, and the safari holiday my family took to Kenya and Tanzania.
